UVic Law

If you are a student interested in studying public interest environmental law, UVic Law is the place to be! The ELC partners with the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria in order to offer the ELC Clinic.

Concentration in Environmental Law and Sustainability

Students in the Environmental Law and Sustainability Program participate in the environmental law clinical program and take other courses in environmental law and sustainability, such as water law, municipal law and sustainability, forest law, energy law and sustainability, and interdisciplinary courses in law and environmental science.

Students who successfully complete the Environmental Law and Sustainability Program requirements will have that designation noted on their degree.

The concentration will provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in environmental law and sustainability, and to use their legal knowledge in the direct service of real clients pursuing a range of interests aimed at environmental protection. Students who complete the eight required courses and electives receive a notation on their transcript.
